Just Laundry, offers a next day laundry delivery service. You order directly from your mobile phone or any other internet connected device. They then come to your home, pick up your laundry; wash, Iron and fold it and then they return it back to you. All of this in 48 hours. They currently operate from Gauteng and have been growing their customer base to around 9 customers a day.
They form part of the successful entrepreneurs to have come from our asset backed crowd funding campaigns on The People’s Fund. Having successfully made a payment at 107% performance from what was projected. This was at annualized return of 19% on capital, clearly above anything on offer in the market.
At the start of the campaign, they were averaging around 5 customers a day with an average order amount of R450. This means their monthly revenue were around R65k. At time of writing this, they were moving closer to an average of 9 customers a day, for the year just turned over R1,3million.
They own the equipment with which they do the laundry, including the vehicle. Due to this constraint, they operate in Gauteng only. This campaign is about making them a national brand, and allowing you, the customer, ownership of this.
How The Campaign Works
The mechanism is simple. You can buy a coupon for a Just Laundry Service from as little as R100 at the bottom of this campaign. Every contribution will make part of the R7,2million pool required to launch the brand in the entire country (this number is broken down in the full prospectus which you can download here). The magic is that each contributor will be part of the Stokvel that will own 40% of Just Laundry, the company.
Just Laundry will have 200 000 shares in the company. Each R100 you spend on their service through this campaign will give you 1 share for free. In total, for this campaign, there are 72 000 shares available. These in total make up 36% of the company. The People’s Fund will take 4% carry for the shares to administer them.
How Much Laundry Do I really Need Done?
As stated, Just Laundry typical charges around R450 for a load of laundry, washed, ironed & folded / hung (picked up and delivered back to you within 48 hours). If you were to have this service done every week of the year it would come to R23 400. The magic of this is that you would be given 234 shares of the company for free!
Transfer-ability of Coupons & Shares
All the coupons for laundry are also transferable to anyone else.
NB! The free shares given away are not transferable and cannot be sold to anyone else without consultation of all the other shareholders as a private company. To decrease the administrative nightmare of multiple requests to sell from different people, all decisions related to the 40% shares will be made by The People’s Fund. Put another way, your proxy is vested into The People’s Fund as the lead shareholder.
Projection & Administration
Based on our projections, We expect that every R100 of contribution to this campaign would have been paid back to the crowd in the next four years in the form of dividends (full breakdown in Prospectus) which will be administered on the Stokfella platform (www.stokfella.mobi); an FSCA registered company with FSP No. 48812. All dividends will be paid through the Stokvel.
Each franchise employs four permanent staff. As we are launching 8 new ones, this means 32 new jobs will be created by this campaign.
NB: There is a handling fee associated with the payment gateway you choose to use on the checkout page.
